Here at Rowell Rocks Ltd we often get asked about the ethics of the Jewellery, Crystals and Minerals we buy and sell.. when we started our business nearly three decades ago, we wanted to share the peace and positivity discovered through our experiences with Gemstones. With this we understood that taking these crystals from the Earth in an unethical way affects not only the metaphysical energies contained within but also affects the environment it once came from.
That’s why we have always worked so hard to establish relationships with family-owned mines and other sources who are cautious and careful when mining. Those who know how powerful crystal energies are, understand why it is vital to respect the people and grounds from where they came.
Although Crystals and minerals are not registered as Fair Trade Products, we try to ensure that the Crystals are mined under safe ethical conditions and that the workers are in an secure environment and receive fair substantial wages. We would never knowingly purchase goods from a company that employed people in unfair or poor working conditions. We buy our goods from key sources and trusted vendors across the globe.
The mines involved in Crystal digging vary from hand collected specimens from the surface to small hand dug pits where larger pieces are picked. Larger quarries are also specifically created to source gemstones. Once all pits are utilised they are then filled in and covered with the original soil which was removed.
At the end of the day, we try our hardest to communicated and buy from someone we trust and we want you to do the same. So whether you’re looking through your local crystal shop, or shopping online, make sure that the stones you’re looking to handle and place in your home are coming from a source you trust. When we put positive effort into respecting the Earth, that energy circles back our way.
